Becky and John Wedding

Becky + John

Unforgettable Vermont Vows

A wedding weekend rich in “wow” moments

Middle school sweethearts Becky and John fell in love with picturesque Manchester during a visit on the way back from a ski trip in early 2020. When it came time to choose a venue for their June 2022 wedding, Kimpton Taconic Hotel was a natural choice. “The hotel itself is perfect. It has all the amenities you would want to host your guests, and the mountain boutique feel of the interior design is welcoming and chic,” they said.

What sealed the deal for the couple was their experience with the Taconic staff and wedding coordination team. “The staff and event coordinators made us feel like they valued our wedding as much as we did. They were available at all hours and made us feel like the venue was set up specifically for us.”

Memorable Details

The couple hosted their rehearsal dinner on the Trillium Terrace where guests were treated to an upscale BBQ buffet. “The ambiance was spectacular as the sun set, the Taconic mountain range showed through the trees, and the twinkle lights twinkled above,” remembers Becky. As evening fell, the wedding party enjoyed the The Green, where two tended fire pits with seating and lawn games like cornhole, ladder ball, Connect 4and life-size Jenga were set up for guest enjoyment.

"It can be very overwhelming to coordinate such a huge event but the staff’s expertise took so much pressure off of the two of us and allowed us to focus on what was most important–celebrating our love and marriage with all of our friends and family."

We cannot recommend this location, this venue, or this staff highly enough. We didn’t need to worry about a thing that entire weekend.

Reception

On the morning of the wedding, John headed off for a round of golf at Mount Anthony Country Club before returning to the hotel to prep with his seven groomsmen at one of Taconic’s cottages. Becky was able to relax in the couple’s King Suite and enjoy coffee, tea and brunch with her bridesmaids while they prepped, primped and took photos. The hotel also shuttled the bride and her crew to a beloved photo spot in the center of Manchester.

Thanks to perfect June weather, the couple exchanged vows under the pergola on The Green as their nearest and dearest looked on. “This ceremony space was absolutely PERFECT and accessible for all guests including our grandparents who were able to walk down the aisle with ease. This meant the world to us,” they said. The reception took place in the Trillium Ballroom where the newlyweds danced the night away before returning to their King Suite accommodations.
